Exploring Estes Park: Trails, Views & the Pants Built for It All - ziphers

Estes Park, Colorado—a gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park—is one of the most inspiring places in the U.S. to reconnect with nature, stretch your legs, and breathe in high-altitude adventure. Whether you’re winding your way up to Dream Lake, catching a glimpse of elk at sunrise, or heading out for a day hike on Lumpy Ridge, Estes Park delivers beauty and challenge in equal measure.

And let’s be honest: not just any outfit will do.

At ZipHers, we believe in making outdoor gear that works with you—on every climb, bend, and breathtaking view. Our customers are active, adventurous women who deserve high-performance clothing designed with real function in mind. And when it comes to hiking Estes Park, two pieces are essentials: the Trailblazer Pro Pants and the Cold Guard Fleece Pants.

Trailblazing Through Rocky Mountain Terrain - ziphers

Trailblazing Through Rocky Mountain Terrain

Estes Park trails range from gentle meadow strolls to rigorous alpine ascents. That’s why layering and versatility are key. The Trailblazer Pro Pants are built for this exact kind of environment.

Why they’re perfect for Estes Park:

  • Zipper innovation: With our discreet, full-zip design, you can take a bathroom break off the trail—without undressing or exposure. That’s a game-changer on popular or remote trails.

  • Durability: Reinforced fabric stands up to rocky trails, brush, and scrambling.

  • Comfort fit: Stretchy yet secure, these pants move with you, not against you.

  • Deep pockets: Because snacks, keys, and phones don’t belong in your backpack’s top pouch.

Pair them with a moisture-wicking base layer and you’ve got yourself a trail-tested combo that handles both sweat and wind.

When the Weather Turns: Cold Guard to the Rescue - ziphers

When the Weather Turns: Cold Guard to the Rescue

Estes Park’s fall weather can shift quickly—from warm and sunny in the morning to breezy and chilly by late afternoon. Enter our Cold Guard Fleece Pants.

Whether you’re wandering the town after your hike, catching a campfire sunset, or doing some early-morning elk spotting, these pants offer:

  • Cozy fleece interior that holds in heat while still breathing.

  • Same ZipHers zip innovation for full-body convenience—cold weather shouldn’t mean freezing half your body just to go.

  • Flattering fit designed specifically for women, not just “sized-down men’s gear.”

  • Perfect for layering, whether over tights or paired with long underwear in colder temps.

We love these for après-hike relaxation or low-key adventures around Lake Estes.

A Word from Debbie, ZipHers Founder: “Estes Park Was Pure Magic”

Every year, a group of about 20 of us travel together to hike some of the most incredible national parks in the U.S. This year, we chose Estes Park in Rocky Mountain National Park—and it truly delivered.

Deer Mountain Rocky Mountain National Park

One of my favorite hikes was Deer Mountain. It begins with a steady incline through a beautiful meadow, where deer and elk often roam freely. Once you enter the forest, the switchbacks make the steeper ascent manageable. The final quarter mile really gets your heart pumping—but that just adds to the thrill. When you reach the summit, the panoramic views of the Continental Divide and Fall River area are absolutely breathtaking.

Calypso Cascades to Chasm Falls

Another standout was Calypso Cascades to Chasm Falls—a 4-7 mile out-and-back trail with jaw-dropping waterfalls. It took us longer than planned, but only because we kept stopping to soak in the beauty. The peaceful sound of cascading water made it feel like a scene out of a dream.

And if you’re traveling with a group, I highly recommend staying at the YMCA of the Rockies. The cabins are cozy and well-equipped, and the optional meal plans were a big win for us. We grabbed quick breakfasts before hitting the trail and enjoyed relaxing dinners together at large tables in the dining hall. It made for the perfect combination of adventure and community.

ZipHers was born from my love of movement, freedom, and connection. Estes Park reminded me of exactly why we create clothes like the Trailblazer Pro Pants and Cold Guard Fleece Pants—gear that lets women hike, explore, and live fully, without compromise.

See you on the trail,

– Debbie
