Stay cool and Active Ziphers
Summer is a time for fun, adventure, and staying active. However, the age-old interpersonal battle of wanting to stay indoors where there's air conditioning and ice machines but knowing exercise and fresh air are necessary, for us personally, is happening right now in the dead heat of the Texas summer.

No matter what time of day it is, the scorching heat can sometimes make it challenging to engage in outdoor activities. But don't worry, we've got you covered with a few tips to stay cooler than you already are!

OPT FOR INDOOR ACTIVITIES

Consider opting for indoor activities when the sun is at its peak and the heat becomes unbearable. Visit an air-conditioned gym or try indoor sports like the new hot tamale pickleball, yoga, or swimming in an indoor pool.
GET OUT EARLY OR WAIT UNTIL LATER

If you still prefer outdoor activities, try adjusting your schedule to avoid the hottest parts of the day. It's a little bit better, right? Wake up early and start your activities before the sun gets too intense. Alternatively, you can wait until the evening when the temperature cools down to enjoy a refreshing run, bike ride, or hike.
STAY HYDRATED
Drinking plenty of water is crucial during summer, especially when engaging in physical activities. Always carry a water bottle with you and sip regularly to stay hydrated. Consider adding electrolyte-rich or sports drinks to replenish lost minerals and maintain energy levels.
CHOOSE SHADED AREAS

When planning outdoor activities, look for shaded areas that provide some relief from the sun's direct rays. Parks with large trees or trails with dense vegetation can offer natural shade.
DRESS APPROPRIATELY
Wearing light-colored, loose-fitting, and breathable clothing helps reflect sunlight and allows better air circulation. Opt for moisture-wicking fabrics, like the Trailblazer 2.0 Shorts, which will keep you cool and dry during activities. Don't forget to wear a wide-brimmed hat and apply sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
EXPLORE WATER-BASED ACTIVITIES
Water-based activities are perfect for beating the summer heat while staying active and adventurous. Consider activities like swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, or even taking a dip in a nearby lake or river. These activities provide a refreshing escape from the scorching temperatures while keeping you engaged.
DISCOVER INDOOR ADVENTURE PARKS
Indoor adventure parks are becoming increasingly popular and offer a great way to stay active even on the hottest days. From rock climbing to trampoline parks, these facilities provide a safe and exciting environment for people of all ages. Have you been to one? Let us know what you thought!
